About the event
Join Nick Riggin for "Healthy Eating on a Budget". Nick is a culinary school graduate, published cookbook author, and owner of a regenerative farm in Talking Rock, GA. In this class, we'll take a dive into some basic nutrition to learn what "healthy" means when it comes to food and find out what is in the food we eat. The misconception that healthy food is more expensive than junk food will be debunked. Learn tips for saving money at the grocery store. He'll also share 5 easy recipes you can cook at home, 4 of which cost $2 or less per serving! There will be time at the end for a Q&A. This class, like all other Food Skills For Our Future events, is free for low-income individuals, high school & college students, and veterans transitioning back into civilian life. All are welcome to attend, but we kindly ask for a $20 donation per person towards the nonprofit organization to help cover our operating costs. We look forward to seeing you!
